Royal stories go down particularly well across the pond. Many American news sites have been leading theirs with news of the new princess. Even on those that aren't (ahem, the New York Times) it's still their most-read story.00.50
The Duke and Duchess are thought to be preparing to travel to their country home of Anmer Hall in Norfolk. Once there, the royal baby has a pressing engagement: a first meeting with the Queen, who is currently at Sandringham.00.34
The newest member of the Royal Family met her grandparents on Sunday - but it was the Middletons who got to see her first. The Princess of Cambridge is expected to meet her great-grandmother, The Queen, later this week. Perhaps we can expect to hear a name soon after?23.40
While we wait for the new royal baby's name to be revealed, here's an interesting piece on her 19th century namesake, the last Princess of Cambridge. She was given the rather unflattering nickname of 'Fat Mary', but was also known as the original People's Princess. So not all bad then.Princess Mary Adelaide of Cambridge, born in 1833, was one of the best-known Royal philanthropists.

This is a nice touch. To mark the royal birth, Kensington Palace's social media team asked people to upload photographs of their recent new arrivals using the hashtag #WelcomeToTheFamily. The resulting images were then used to create a Storify blog post.

Going to back to our friends in Russia who think yesterday's royal birth was faked because Kate looked too beautiful when she emerged from the Lindo Wing.Well, it's highly unlikely she crawled out of the labour ward looking like that. We reveal the grooming team behind Kate's postnatal preening - and how they got the Duchess to dazzle.

She might only be a day old, but the new Princess Cambridge is apparently already more popular than her older sibling Prince George.Twitter recorded more than a million tweets for the new royal baby, while her brother's birth in 2013 attracted a mere 900,000 posts. Read the stats here.
And let the sibling rivalry commence.

Well, this is an unusual theory, to say the least. Apparently, not everyone is convinced the royal birth even took place. Russians say Kate looked 'too beautiful' afterwards and claim the whole thing was faked. The full story can be seen here.18.00
